Registration for Taijiang Handicraft Green Working Holiday Begins on 8/26
TNPH's highly popular Handicraft Green Working Holiday event will be held for the 4th year on 9/28 (Saturday), inviting adults and children interested in ecological conservation and handicraft to participate in the working holiday activity, where they can roll up their sleeves to engage in park habitat creation activity in the wild. They will be using woodworking tools combined with aesthetic design and natural wastes found in Taijiang (oyster shells, branches, and twigs trimmed off plants in the park) to create handmade trinkets during a working holiday. Besides breathing new life into waste materials, they can also take home one of a kind keepsakes. At the same time, through adequate sharing, they will be able to establish interpersonal networks needed for partaking in national park affairs in the long run and gain more insight into national parks, in turn ensuring the creation of a beautiful and high-quality environment at Taijiang. People of all ages interested in ecological conservation and handicraft are invited to participate in meaningful activities in order to get close to nature and create fruitful, wonderful holiday memories!
Working Holiday is a new form of recreation involving a combination of volunteer service and traveling, where, in a bid to protect the environment, participants partake in voluntary labor besides work and school while also enjoying a relaxing vacation. Meanwhile, through sharing and exchanging their experiences with likeminded people, they are able to establish interpersonal networks needed for partaking in national park affairs in the long run.
Participants must be at least 12 years old who also have a passion for handicraft and environmental protection. The fee is NT$200 per person (including tools, materials, lunch, insurance, and administrative expenses). The citizens are encouraged to sign up in groups (2 persons or more) in order to enjoy a 20% discount. Online registration will begin at 10:00 on 2019/8/26 (Monday). Only 25 spots are available on a first come first served basis. The venue chosen for the event is near the beautiful stilt house-inspired TNP visitor center (No. 118, Sicao Blvd., Annan Dist., Tainan City). The exact location will be informed after your registration is confirmed.
