To promote environmental education and take conservation actions, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters founded Taijiang Wetland School in 2012 as a brand for promoting environmental education based on four theme aspects, ecological conservation, history and humanities, economic industry, and national park environmental actions. Local schools, agencies, fishermen, clam farmers and captains were invited to take part in the course. The most simple local style and culture were used to convey true emotion and interaction between people and the environment. Diverse teaching strategies were used to arouse and reinforce conservation actions.

By 2021, Taijiang Wetland School has existed for ten years. The Taijiang National Park Headquarters held the “A classroom in a wetland? 10th anniversary exhibition of environmental education in Taijiang National Park” to share the promotion progress over the past decade. The exhibition is divided into four sections, “Wetland, wetland loss, Conveyance and Heritage,” “Introduction to the Course of Environmental Education,” “Achievement Display” and “Taijiang Partners,” starting from “Wetland, wetland loss, Conveyance and Heritage,” explaining how wetland affects daily life, to let visitors understand the importance of wetland to the environment. After visitors get to know about the wetland, the exhibition shares and introduces the 14 courses by explaining the core concept of founding the Taijiang Wetland School. Next, the exhibition shares the efforts the Taijiang Wetland School made these years and the feedback from students. At last, “Taijiang Partners” described the collaboration between the school and community partners, seed teachers, and agencies at home and abroad, and appreciated the cooperation with and support from all units throughout the years.

The exhibition runs from December 22, 2021 to April 24, 2022. During the exhibition, we arranged a series of “Environmental Education Experience Activities” and “DIY Activities” to invite everyone to walk into this big wetland classroom. By sharing a series of excellent environmental education courses, visitors can find out how Taijiang Wetland School leads students to create an environment for learning, practicing conservation actions, and building a conservation concept for more people.
