2014

  1. Organized the event on “International Forum and Workshop on Overall Planning for Dutch Trading Post in Taiwan”, invited Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie (VOC) to discuss and share with academics and experts from Asian trading spots including Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. The event concluded successfully.

  2. Completed the memo content deliberation, registration and approval matters related to collaborative partnerships with the Society of Wetland Scientists (SWS) and WWF Hong Kong.

  3. International Seminar on Wetland Environmental Education:Taijiang National Park is the only wetland national park in Taiwan, and in order to expand the international perspectives and concepts for wetland environmental education, to enrich the knowledge and skills related to wetland environmental education, to stimulate environmental education and experience sharing between local partnerships, as well as to enhance the national park in promoting the international reputation for wetland environmental education, Taijiang National Park Headquarters (called Taijiang Headquarters for short below) has organized the “International Seminar on Wetland Environmental Education” at the Chung Hwa Hall of the Magic School of Green Technologies, National Cheng Kung University on November 18th and 19th during 2014.

  1. In order to promote the concepts of wetland ecology and conservation, we and the Endemic Species Research Institute of the Council of Agriculture together with the Urban and Rural Development Branch, Construction and Planning agency, Ministry of Interior have jointly invited black-faced spoonbill life circle experts and academics from various countries to hold the “2011 International Symposium on Black-faced Spoonbill and Coastal Wetlands Conservation” on April 7th and 8th of 2011.

  2. On October 15th and 16th of 2011, we jointly organized the “2nd Asian Bird Fair” with Tainan City Government and Chinese Wild Bird Federation; the event was held at Anping Harbor, with enthusiastic participation of bird lovers from 11 countries around the world. We have specially set up display booth to allow international visitors to learn more about the various relevant black-faced spoonbill conservation research outcomes carried out by us.

  1. In order to construct comprehensive migratory species conservation network, we have collaborated with Chongming Dongtan Birds Nature Reserve in Shanghai on May 16th to exchange memos and jointly promote the wetland conservation work for black-faced spoonbills, as it is also an important stop on the migration route for East Asian migratory birds, as well as a life circle for black-faced spoonbills.

  2. On September 27th and 28th, we have invited Yamashina Institute for Ornithology together with Ringing Center from Japan to organize “Migratory Bird-Ringing Technological Exchange Seminar” in Taiwan.

  3. T3. On October 28th-29th, we have invited cross-Straits experts and academics to hold the “Seminar on Black-faced Spoonbill Life Circle Wetland Conservation and Migratory Birds’ Migration”, as well as the research and study on ringing techniques, thereby enhancing the international visibility of Taijiang’s conservation, as well as establish a good foundation for international conservation collaboration.

  1.
