First Day Itinerary Taijiang National Park Visitor Center → Taiwan Salt Museum (Approximate Distance: 1.8km) → Qigu Sea View Tower (Approximate Distance: 6.8km) → Qingkunshen Community (Approximate Distance: 10.2km) → Liukong Visitor Center (Approximate Distance: 6.36km) → Qigu Guosheng Lighthouse (Approximate Distance: 7.5km) → A Night at Qigu District

Taiwan Salt Museum-Qigu Salt Mountain - Taiwan Salt Museum: The “History of Taiwan Salt Industries” exhibit on level two of the museum features an oral history exhibit area that streams recordings of a hundred people who share their experiences and recollections of working in Taiwan’s salt industry.
- Qigu Salt Mountain: Taiyen (Taiwan Salt Company) bids farewell to conventional methods of salt farming, and preserves its last ‘salt mountain’ in memory of the salt farming industry’s old practice. The salt mountain has become a famous attraction in Qigu area, and is also the last remaining base of Qigu’s salt farming industry.

Qigu Sea View Tower-Saltern Landscape See salt farmers hard at work collecting salt from the salterns and carrying them off to be stored.
Qigu Sea View Tower-Beautiful Lagoon Gaze down upon the beautiful lagoon from the Sea View Tower, and watch as the glorious sunset illuminates the lagoon surface dotted with floating oyster farms.
Qingkunshen Community-Fan-shaped Saltern A fan-shaped saltern stretches out from the salt farming workers’ dormitory, and can be said to be the most beautiful saltern in Taiwan. This ingenious design helps to facilitate salt collection by concentrating the salt crystals closer to the workers’ dormitory. Back then, the addition of this saltern made Qigu’s salt farming industry the largest and most cutting-edge salt farm in Taiwan.

Qingkunshen Community-Unique Fishing Village Located next to a fan-shaped saltern, this fishing village is full of fish farms, water channels and sand bars. Most of the local populace are in the fishing industry. This is truly a one-of-a-kind village settlement.

Mangrove Forest Ecosystem-Birdwatching The Qigu Mangrove Forest Nature Reserve is mostly populated by Avicennia marina, and some Kandelia obovate. This estuary is rich in minerals and teams with life. Spot mudskippers, waterbirds and local wildlife as they go about their daily activities.
Qigu Guosheng Lighthouse-Guosheng Lighthous Visit the lighthouse that marks the Westernmost point of the main island of Taiwan.
Qigu Guosheng Lighthouse-Sand Bar Scenery Enjoy an up-close look of the windbreak forest and Mictyris (a genus of crab) scuttling around their natural habitat.

Sicao Dazhong Temple-Sicao Artillery Fort Sicao Artillery Fort is listed as a Grade II historic site. The fort has witnessed the rule of the Qing dynasty and Japanese colonization. It now forms part of the perimeter wall of Zhenhai Elementary School after restoration. The cannon platforms and cannons are long gone, leaving behind the fortress walls.
Sicao Dazhong Temple-Dutch Burial Mound The Dutch Burial Mound is situated behind the temple, and houses the remains of many Dutch warriors. The mound has been decorated with Dutch scenery, the God of the Sea, and the Goddess of Fortune. A former PM of the Netherlands has visited the burial mound to pay his respects to the fearless warriors.
Sicao Dazhong Temple-Sicao Green Tunnel Glide along the river and admire ancient growths of lush mangrove trees such as Rhizophora stylosa, Kandelia obovata, Lumnitzera racemosa, Avicennia marina, Excoecaria agallocha, and Pittosporum formosanum.
Luermen River Estuary-Natural Defense of the Capital Admire the gorgeous sunset and take a trip back in time at the spot where Koxinga successfully set foot on land.
