From the River – A Joint Picture Book Exhibition by Taijiang and Shei-Pa National Parks

While dedicated to natural conservation, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters (TJNP) also utilizes diverse interpretative and educational methods to engage the public with the national park. In recent years, TJNP has continued to produce storybooks on various themes, aiming to educate through entertainment and convey the national park’s conservation and historical cultural principles in a straightforward and engaging manner.

After receiving positive feedback from previous picture book exhibitions in collaboration with Kenting and Yushan National Park Headquarters over the past two years, this time TJNP has specially invited Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters to jointly organize the “From the River – Taijiang and Shei-Pa National Parks Joint Picture Book Exhibition.” This special exhibition features the Taijiang National Park storybook “Taijiang Bird Expert,” which introduces the bird species and their foraging traits in the Taijiang wetlands. Simultaneously, it showcases the different ecological environments of the high mountain valleys through the Shei-Pa National Park storybook “The Wishes of the Salmon Treasure Fish,” focusing on the Formosan landlocked salmon. By linking the content of these picture books, the exhibition combines the ecological conservation efforts of Taijiang and Shei-Pa National Parks, starting from the rivers, to illustrate the diverse resources and vibrant life within the national parks.

The “From the River – Taijiang and Shei-Pa National Parks Joint Picture Book Exhibition” will be held from March 25 to September 3, 2023, at the 2F Special Exhibition Room of the Taijiang National Park Visitor Center.
