Step into the "Time Paradise" - 2023 Taijiang Black-faced Spoonbill Season Closing Event
As spring arrives, the black-faced spoonbills will begin their migratory journey northward, and with that the "2023 Taijiang Black-faced Spoonbill Season - Black-faced Spoonbill TIME" is drawing to a close. The Taijiang National Park Headquarters of the National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior, is set to host the season's closing event at Anshun Salt Fields on March 31, 2024. Themed "Time Paradise," the event will take place amidst the rich ecological and historical backdrop of the salt industry, featuring a variety of activities including family theater, live band performances, a grassy picnic area, a local food market, DIY workshops, and engaging salt industry experiences. Members of the public, especially families, are invited to enjoy performances, savor delicious food, and spend a delightful Sunday at Anshun Salt Fields, bidding farewell to the winter migratory birds as they head north for the season.
The event will take place from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, starting with a morning session featuring children's theater, including short plays about Taijiang, Kamishibai story performances, and interactive magic shows. In the afternoon, popular bands Theseus and Infinity Youth Men will take the stage, bringing their energetic blend of lyrical and rock music to liven up the atmosphere. In addition to the performances, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters is partnering with the Wild Bird Society of Tainan and the Tainan City Salt Friends Care Association to offer a "Cute Seeds Transformation" DIY activity and hands-on experiences related to the salt industry (available through online registration). Other highlights include bamboo cicada toy DIY workshops, a gourmet market, and a spacious grassy picnic area. The first 100 groups to register for the picnic will also receive a limited-edition commemorative insulated bag, exclusively available to family or group participants.
