Island Lion Quest—Taijiang and Kinmen National Parks Hold Joint Picture Book Exhibition
The Taijiang National Park Headquarters of the National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior is dedicated to natural conservation and has been employing various educational methods to engage the public with national parks. Over the years, it has continued to produce storybooks on different themes to convey the principles of natural conservation, culture, and history through entertaining and accessible content. As part of these efforts, the "Island Lion Quest—Taijiang National Park and Kinmen National Park Joint Picture Book Exhibition" will be held from April 24 to September 29, 2024, showcased in the Special Exhibition Room on the 2nd floor of the Taijiang Visitor Center.
Following successful exhibitions in collaboration with the Kenting National Park Headquarters, Yushan National Park Headquarters, and Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters, Taijiang National Park Headquarters has invited the Kinmen National Park Headquarters to co-host this special exhibition. Featuring the picture books "Grandpa’s Secret Base" and "Dressing the Wind Lion God," the exhibition draws elements from the stories’ Sword Lion and Wind Lion Gods. With "Island Lion Quest" as its theme, the exhibition creates a fantastical exploration setting. It invites audiences to follow the protagonist, Chia Mei, to discover the deep connections between natural environments and folk beliefs; it also incorporates interactive games to extend knowledge beyond the books, helping audiences appreciate the unique yet shared cultural features of Taijiang and Kinmen.
