The event drew around 400 enthusiastic participants from across Taiwan, joined by distinguished guests who came to cheer on the crowd. These included representatives such as Chang Wen-hsiung, representing Legislator Chen Ting-fei; Secretary Tu Chin-chou, representing Councilor Kuo Hsin-liang; Secretary Chen Fu-jen, representing Councilor Lee Chung-tsen; Tainan City Council Secretary-General Yen Sheng-chi; Liu Mi-shan, Deputy Executive Director of the Yunlin-Chiayi-Tainan Joint Services Center, Executive Yuan; Wu Tsung-ching, Secretary of the Tourism Administration’s Southwest Coast National Scenic Area Headquarters; Commander Chiu Sheng-huan from the Seventh Division of the Seventh Special Police Corps, Ministry of the Interior; Cheng Tao-li, Deputy Director of Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau; Chang Chieh-chun, Deputy District Chief of Annan District Office; Chairman Chen Shih-feng and Secretary-General Wang Fu-cheng of the Sicao Dazhong Temple, among others.

Starting in the afternoon at TNPH, the event guided participants along a route that immersed them in the rich history and natural beauty of Taijiang. The journey began with a raft ride through the Sicao Lake mangroves, offering insights into the intertidal flora and fauna. From there, participants ventured onto the mysterious and enchanting Beishanwei Beach, following the sound of the waves northward to the Luermen Estuary. The route then turned east along Luermen River, where participants took a brief rest at Zhenmen Temple, dedicated to Koxinga. Afterward, they visited the Tianhou Temple, honoring Mazu, to recharge. The final stretch along Beishanwei Road brought participants back to the Taijiang Visitor Center, where completion certificates were awarded. From dusk to nightfall, the walk provided participants with a unique opportunity to connect with the historical and cultural heritage of Taijiang’s early settlers and to appreciate the ecological characteristics of Taijiang National Park’s wetlands.

This year marked the 13th consecutive Taijiang Night Walk hosted by the Taijiang National Park Headquarters. With the support of the Seventh Division, Seventh Special Police Corps for on-site traffic control and crowd management, the event allowed participants to experience Taijiang National Park in diverse ways and at their own pace. For many, it has become an annual tradition. The event aims to encourage more people to step into nature, connect with the land, and discover the stories of its people and ecosystems. Together, participants create a living narrative of life intertwined with the land, fostering a deeper appreciation for Taijiang’s unique ecological and cultural heritage.
