2024 Taijiang Black-faced Spoonbill Season Closing Event— “Sunset Concert”

The arrival of springs signals the time for the black-faced spoonbills to begin their northward migration, marking the end of the 2024 Taijiang Black-faced Spoonbill Season. The Taijiang National Park Headquarters of the National Park Service, Ministry of the Interior (hereinafter referred to as Taijiang HQ) will host a special closing event on March 15, 2025, at the Luerhmen-Sicao Observation Post (Old Site). The event’s theme is “Sunset Concert”, and it will take place in the historical Luerhmen area. It will feature a jazz band performance, a treasure hunt, a gourmet food market, a picnic on the grass, and hands-on DIY activities. Families and visitors of all ages are invited to gather at Luerhmen, enjoy live music while savoring delicious food, and spend a relaxing weekend bidding farewell to the migratory birds as they embark on their northward journey.

The closing event will take place from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, kicking off with an exciting performance combining diabolo juggling, balloon artistry, and crystal ball manipulation. In the second half, the much-loved band SMALLS JAZZ will take the stage, filling the air with jazz melodies as the sun sets over the Luerhmen Canal[HYS1] . In addition to having many performances on-site, the event will also feature a treasure hunt, a black-faced spoonbill puppet DIY workshop, a gourmet food market, and a picnic area. Participants who successfully complete the treasure hunt will receive a limited-edition black-faced spoonbill phone strap. For event schedules and details, please refer to the event guide.
