In 2021, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters organized a plan for promoting eco-friendly habitats and implement the idea of the green map with humans and birds living in harmony, to actively solve the problem of food shortage for black-faced spoonbills, a flagship species. In addition, as this bird’s habitat is deteriorating gradually, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters built a diverse habitat, and conducted substrate perturbation and mangrove suppression, thus gradually achieving a wise use of wetland and reaching the primary concrete result. We organized traces of history by connecting the historical water channel to the fishery and salt industry. The results are quite fruitful and diverse. To encourage public engagement and promotion, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters will hold the event “2021 Taijiang National Park Headquarters Presentation of Conservation Results” at the First Screening Room in the visitor center in the morning on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 to share the research results with everyone.

The topics of this conference include habitat experiments and conservation research plans at the core area of the wetland at the estuary of Tsengwen River in Taijiang National Park, historical water channel and investigation plans of relevant facilities, land crab ecology surveys, and eco-friendly habitat creation test results for international migratory species in 2021. Principal investigators of all sub projects, specialized in this field, from National Chiayi University, Taiwan Academy of Ecology and Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, will be invited to hold the presentation of results. This is a rare opportunity. Everyone is welcome to participate. Visitors may view the exhibition and watch relevant films at the visitor center after the presentation.

Visitors may visit the website of Taijiang National Park for event information and sign up starting today. The deadline is May 11, 2022 at 12 PM.
