11/19 Anshun Salt Story House Opens at Taiwan’s Oldest Salt Works!

Anshun Salt Fields, Taiwan’s first salt industry, has a history of over a hundred years. Having witnessed the heydays of Taiwan's sea salt drying industry, it has now transformed into an ecological and cultural site.

In September 2019, the Taijiang National Park Management Office started to borrow several buildings in the area. It renovated and revitalized these old facilities to serve as a new exhibition spaces and educational venues dedicated to the history and culture of the salt industry. The Anshun Salt Story House will open on November 19, 2022.

Opening activities include: Opening Ceremony, Outdoor Reality Puzzle Solving, Salt Fields Experience Tour, etc. Parents, children, and anyone interested are welcome to come walk in these fields and revel in the wonderful stories that tie history, people, and land together.

 

The Opening Ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. The Outdoor Reality Puzzle Solving will be open to the public from 11:00a.m.. Download the puzzle app and follow instructions. If you have completed all the levels (which takes about 40-50 minutes), you may collect a little souvenir at the service counter. The Salt Field Experience Tours run from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.. The tour includes a story hall tour, outdoor walk among the salt fields, salt drying experience, and a demonstration of making salty bean curd. The tour is free of charge, but online registration is required.
