In recent years, more and more people in Taiwan have begun to pay attention to the relationship between wildlife conservation and human industries, proposing several measures including diversified loss compensation, conservation incentives and ecological service payments for industrial losses caused by wildlife such as pheasants, sika deer, leopard Cat s and black-faced spoonbills. Moreover, some eco-friendly labels have been created such as "Black-faced Spoonbill Brand", "Wetland of Importance", "Green Conservation", "Profish Ecolabel" and more to help farmers and fishermen provide industrial value-added counseling and seek win-win strategies of ecological conservation and industrial co-prosperity. Therefore, Taijiang National Park Administration (hereinafter referred to as Taijiang Office) specially invited partners who are committed to eco-friendly habitat construction today (October 27) to hold a unique "Seminar on Eco-friendly Habitat Construction and Conservation Strategies", including representatives of Kenting National Park Headquarters, Environmental Ethics Foundation of Taiwan and the Pheasant-tailed Jacana Eco-Educational Nature Park to share the eco-friendly habitat conservation rewards and experiences for sika deer, sandpiper family transit water birds, pheasants, etc. These representatives also had a brilliant discussion on the eco-friendly habitat creation strategies and ecological service allowance for the black-faced spoonbills which have been implemented by Taijiang Office for many years. In addition, the Urban and Rural Development Branch of the Construction and Planning Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, the Tse-Xin Organic Agriculture Foundation, the Taiwan Ocean Conservation and Fisheries Sustainability Foundation and the founder of Taiwan BlueMagpie Tea were also invited to share their concept of eco-friendly labels such as wetland marks, Chinese leopard cat friendly agricultural, green conservation, the ProFish Ecolabel and more. The "Black-faced Spoonbill Brand Trademark" of the bird's head fish drawing registered by Taijiang Office since 2013 was also shown in this seminar, resulting in all participants fully learning about the efforts of the domestic eco-friendly labels and brands!

The Taijiang Office said that relevant NGOs, experts and scholars, and governments and organizations jointly explore how to implement the Aichi Targets vision of "harmonious coexistence with the nature through participatory planning", so that everyone understands that many locals in Taiwan have silently participated in the protection and flexible utilization of traditional industries including agriculture, forestry, fishery, and animal husbandry to deliver economic, social and ecological benefits, and promote harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.

Since 2011, the Taijiang Office has been lead-promoting the building up and experiments for the eco-friendly fishponds, and the demonstration production of Black-faced Spoonbill-friendly aquatic products, by trying to start the migratory bird conservation strategy from "humans" and "fishponds". After 10-years efforts by Taijiang Office, this year the eco-friendly habitat construction partners proactively applied to join the partnership, increasing to 12 fishermen with 100-hectare fishponds. The Taijiang Office believes that only by implementing a win-win conservation strategy between the local aquaculture and the ecology of migratory birds one can create a friendly winter migratory bird habitat that is using sustainable resources!

During the seminar, conservationists from all over Taiwan gathered to discuss and exchange their points of view on the promotion mechanisms, supporting measures and environmental responsibilities of eco-friendly habitat creation with the assistances of former Director Hsu Wenlung, the Construction and Planning Agency of the Ministry of the Interior, and Professor Lin Chunchuan, Department of Geography of the National Taiwan University. Participants treat today's seminar as a milestone for the promotion of eco-friendly habitat creation, and hope that through this promotion of conservation brands and labels they can actively support the various local traditional industries and present their characteristics, building up a future of coexistence and co-prosperity between the industries and ecological environment!
