The Taijiang historical picture book "Walking Along Taijiang River"—co-created by best-selling children's book author Wang Wenhua and cutting-edge illustrator Cai Yuning, who created a beautiful tapestry of texts and visuals—was awarded the "2022 Excellence Award for Documentary Books and Periodicals" by the Records and Archives Hall of Taiwan Historica.
Taijiang National Park director Zhang Dengwen noted: “We have been publishing high-quality picture books to teach children about Taijiang’s natural ecology and human history in a fun way. Today’s prize-winning historical picture book "Walking Along Taijiang River"—another collaboration with best-selling children's book author Wang Wenhua—takes readers on a trip through 400 years of local history, where they meet Siraya people, join a deer hunt, visit Fort Zeelandia (now Anping Old Fort), discover boats and the open seas…, everything that makes up Taijiang’s history. We’re delighted that our book has been honored with the "2022 Excellence Award for Documentary Books and Periodicals" by the Records and Archives Hall of Taiwan Historica.”
