Taiwan Salt Museum + Qigu Salt Mountain

Qigu was an important industrial salt producing area of Taiwan. Salt production was carried out by Taiyen and the South Japan Salt Company, which were established in 1935 and 1938 respectively. They used sand-paved salt fields. The former salt production area has now been transformed into the Taiwan Salt Museum and the Qigu Salt Mountain Recreational Park, which preserve and display the cultural assets of Taiwan's centuries-old salt industry.
