Nanwan Wharf

Hop on a raft to experience the ecological beauty of Qigu Lagoon and learn more about the local aquaculture industry. If you gaze westward from the wharf platform, you can see the Dingtoue Sandbar and admire the sunset.

Dingtoue Sandbar

Dingtoue Sandbar borders Qigu Lagoon to the South, and was formed from sediments deposited by rivers in western Taiwan and waves from the Taiwan Strait. The beautiful, undulating sandbar is made up of fine sand.

Qigu Guosheng Lighthouse
Qigu Guosheng Lighthouse

The lighthouse is 32.7m high. It once fell due to the changing topography and typhoons, and was rebuilt upon the Dingtoue Sandbar in 1970. The iron lighthouse now stands at the westernmost point of Taiwan’s main island, near Jianzaiwei, and protects fishermen who have gone out to sea.
